At The Beanstalk Farm, we respect everyone's opinion, and their right to it.  We expect all members to always remember that your opinion is your own, and your purpose in this life - while we may have many - is not to change or disrespect the opinion of anyone else, or their right to keep it.

Art may be controversial, at times, and the evocation of emotion is no excuse to forget your manners.

Failure to conduct yourself accordingly may result in revocation of membership and affiliation with

RULES

Events & Affiliation

All events sponsored by The Beanstalk Farm are intended to showcase inspiration and talent. These events will only include original art or works, and the rightful owners of these materials. 
All event participants must register in advance of most events, and late entry will not be permitted.  All participants and works must be available for the duration of the event, unless exception is made in advance.

RULES

Gallery Inclusion

All entries must be original works and not previously shown in an exhibit at The Beanstalk Farm.

Please be mindful of copyright infringements.

Work accepted for an exhibition may not be substituted, nor will any artwork be withdrawn during any exhibition, in any circumstance.

All Entries will be reviewed at the time of submission to ensure adherence to the artwork condition rules and regulations of the exhibit.

Inclusion / Exclusion in the exhibit is at the sole discretion of the Juror, and is non-negotiable. The Director of The Beanstalk Farm reviews artwork for adherence to rules and regulations only and reserves the right to refuse submission based on the terms stated within.

The number of pieces included in the exhibit will depend on the scale of the artworks selected. On average, this will be between 20 and 30 pieces.

The Beanstalk Farm reserves the right to turn away any submissions that it deems inappropriate for our younger viewers or offensive in subject matter, in some circumstances.

Works with overtly pornographic, discriminatory or violent messages may be barred from submission per the discretion of The Beanstalk Farm Director.

All images on exhibit must be For sale.

There will be no “Not for Sale” (NFS) artwork accepted or permitted for entry into any exhibition.

The Beanstalk Farm sells high-quality art prints, canvas prints and posters, printed stationery and gifts from selected gallery images.  Inclusion in galleries requires consent to the reproduction of images for the purposes of marketing, promotion, or as merchandise - with royalties paid to the artist.

All exhibiting artists must have completed IRS tax form 1099-NEC, to qualify to receive payments from The Beanstalk Farm.

RULES

Gallery Submission

All entries must be original, owned by the applicant, relevant to a current call for entry and appropriately labelled in the subject line.

Gallery entries may be original photographs, digital scans of drawings, paintings or other 2-dimensional works.  Digital photographs of murals, sculptures or other 3-dimensional works.

Exhibition entries may be original photographs, digital scans of drawings, paintings or other 2-dimensional works.  Digital photographs of murals, sculptures or other 3-dimensional works.  Digital video files.

The Beanstalk Farm sells high-quality art prints, canvas prints and posters, printed stationery and gifts from selected gallery images.  Inclusion in galleries requires consent to the reproduction of images for the purposes of marketing, promotion, or as merchandise - with royalties paid to the artist.

Digital files must be submitted to: thebeanstalkfarm@yahoo.com, and must be relevant to a current call for entry, properly titled and include preferred language and spellings to be used in galleries, exhibition and promotional copy.  A short bio should accompany your work, as well as an optional commentary about the piece being submitted.  Please include any relevant links or addresses to your personal art sites, or third-party selling sites, such as Etsy.  This allows us to send your audience straight to your work, to get you more properly acquainted, as quickly and directly as possible.

  • Artist bios – Three Sentences: 1) artist specialization and primary works or interests 2) artist current position or practice level 3) artist’s other featured works or exhibitions

  • Commentary – 400-1200 words. OPTIONAL.  Can be drafted in submission email. All commentary should be the sole opinion of the author.​

Exceptions: Certain projects may involve additional file requirements. Please contact us for delivery of complex projects.


Please include a title page or title card with the artist’s name, age, location and preferred mediums, plus an e-mail address to which edited text and correspondence will be sent. In a separate document, please include a short bio with either a bio image or a representative image for the submission (high res images only). Please include two to five keywords or tags for searching online (preferably not words already used in the title). Also, please adhere to our standard naming conventions: lastname_firstname_title

  • Audio, film – MPEG, MOV or Quicktime file for films or a link to YouTube, etc. High quality MP3s for audio files.

If your submission is too big to send via email, please upload your documents to a file sharing site and copy the link to your submission email.

The Water Cooler is a member forum hosted by The Beanstalk Farm to enable our members and artists greater access to each other, questions, answers and other relevant topics.

Studio Swap Meets

All studio supplies and implements must be in clean, working order, unless clearly indicated otherwise, and still of relevant value.  All personal or business exchanges that occur during sponsored swap meets is the sole responsibility of the participants involved.  No payments or promises will be made through, or on behalf of The Beanstalk Farm during any sponsored swap meet events.

Studio Swap Meet participants are required to have their own payment applications and off-site product listings.

All art must be original, in-stock and ready to ship.

All personal or business exchanges that occur during sponsored trunk shows is the sole responsibility of the participants involved.  No payments or promises will be made through, or on behalf of The Beanstalk Farm during any sponsored trunk show events.

Studio Trunk Show participants are required to have their own payment applications and off-site product listings.

Membership - General

General membership is not required to enjoy The Beanstalk Farm, or to buy from the gift shop.  General membership is required to submit artwork for consideration in galleries and exhibits.  Additional information is required upon acceptance - with an upgrade to an Artist Membership for 3 months, with enhanced access and features on The Beanstalk Farm.

PERKS

Membership - Artist

Upon acceptance into any Gallery or Exhibition, your general membership will be upgraded to an artist membership, for 3 months - still free of charge.  Artist membership accesses The Beanstalk Farm's Studio Swap Meets, Studio Trunk Show eligibility, priority participation in other events.  Artist membership includes marketing and promotion of their selected works.

The Beanstalk Farm promotes artists at absolutely no cost to the artist.  We produce art prints and printed gifts from select submitted gallery images to create a mutually-beneficial product, covering costs of marketing and promotion, and paying royalties to the artist for the use of their work.

Artists are entitled to a discount on any merchandise bearing their own art.

Prints & Gifts

The Beanstalk Farm sells high-quality art prints, canvas prints and posters, printed stationery and gifts from selected gallery images.  Inclusion in galleries requires consent to the reproduction of images for the purposes of marketing, promotion, or as merchandise - with royalties paid to the artist.

Merchandise production is on-demand, and inventory will not be kept in stock.  Samples may be produced for quality assurance, and will be archived, as property of The Beanstalk Farm.

Artists may order merchandise printed with their work at a partner-rate, either per piece, or in bulk.

PAYMENTS

Artist Royalties

Payments from The Beanstalk Farm are rendered quarterly.  Payments can be made through check, PayPal, Venmo, Cashapp or Zelle.

In order to receive payment from The Beanstalk Farm, you must complete a tax form, 1099-NEC.  Annual royalty payments of less than $600 do not require IRS reporting.  Payments from The Beanstalk Farm are categorized as "non-employee compensation."
